If the last time you gunned down anything was during a reckless spree of Oregon Trail, Big Buck Hunter or—dear god—Duck Hunt, take comfort. It certainly doesn't preclude you from feasting on the flesh of the hunted and the fruits of the foraged.

Using Massachusetts' hunting seasons as inspiration—either to dine on farm-raised game or to target warm, fuzzy prey in the wilderness—we present a paean to game. Game!

Curl up with your favorite meat (or mushroom) and warm up your blood from the inside out.
