No art in rock sex

By Copy Desk on Mon, Aug 13, 2007 5:16 pm

While fact-checking a review today, the desk came to the collective realization that MySpace and personal web publishing has vastly altered the medium in which groupies can commemorate their rock star conquests. This may not be news to anyone, but its proliferation on the site was amusing to note. Taking significantly less effort than plaster casting, it would appear that all a special lady need do is post pictures of her trophy, so that no one can call her a slanderous liar post-publication of her future tell-all book (aka mid-life appeal for undeserved attention). I offer up Whitestarr's MySpace page as case in point. Be sure to scroll down to the lovely Shauna's charming pictorial.

Attention Artists! Stop the Orphan Act!

By weeklydig on Mon, May 5, 2008 12:23 pm

Two bills were submitted to congress at the end of April — one to the House and one to the Senate — called the Orphan Works Act of 2008. Congress is looking to have this act passed and signed into law by George Bush by June 8, 2008, less than two months after it was introduced.

In a nutshell, this act may put many of you creative people in a tight spot when it comes to copyrighting your images and jeopardize long term royalties.
