I could mention how L4D's first-person perspective makes it the first survival horror game to startle me. I could go on about its detail, from the graffiti that fleshes out the zombie apocalypse to the fake movie posters that solidify the game's horror aesthetic. I could rave with respect and resentment over its AI Director, the devious mind that varies the magnitude and location of the zombie hordes each session. I could even lecture on bathing the sidewalk in the viscera of a million billion zombies. Instead, I'll declare L4D the greatest co-op gaming experience ever and get back to the slaughter.
