CALL OF DUTY: WORLD AT WAR | MOST PLATFORMS

ACTIVISION | 11.11.08

Call of Duty 4 came out a year ago and thrust the aging first-person shooter franchise in a new direction; namely, one that didn’t involve World War II. World at War returns the series to the increasingly uninspired “greatest generation” hagiography. The main reason to play is the online multiplayer, still one of the most popular games online. The only differences here are maps, weapons and which ethnicities are being stereotyped. Basically, it’s full price for an expansion with unnecessary voiceovers from Kiefer Sutherland and Gary Oldman.
